These are carried out
for patients requiring surgery. You should bring
- a list of all your tablets.
- your glasses.
- be prepared for a 2 hour stay; lots of measurements
of your eyes, for example, will be needed to be taken.
- a friend or relation if you have a bad memory.
- be prepared to partly undress for an ECG (a heart
recording).
- a list of any questions or concerns, and a note
of your current medical problems.
- cataract surgery is usually carried out with a
local anaesthetic, but occasional patients need a general anaesthetic.
