Good Hope Hospital Eye Clinic

Children, General Care

Most children attending Good Hope attend the orthoptic department. However, Miss Kipioti looks after children with other eye problems. These include children with watery eyes (see).

The clinic is on Friday morning. A number of children will have to have their pupils dilated, with drops that hurt a little. The dilating drops usually wear off by 90 minutes or so.

If your child is not well, please ring to cancel the appointment.

Very urgent problems are dealt with by the Emergency department at Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre, City Hospital. Children should NOT attend the Good Hope Emergency department, unless they have a very straight-forward problem that can be dealt with by doctors not trained in Ophthalmology.
