The Good Hope Hospital NHS Trust is part of the NHS. There are
over six hundred NHS Trusts, a full list of these can be found
at www.nhs.uk. The Good Hope Hospital NHS Trust is classified
as a medium acute or multi-service district general hospital.
The Trust provides a typical portfolio of district general hospital
services from the Good Hope site, and also provides significant
activity in South Staffs, Burntwood, Lichfield, Tamworth and
Northern Birmingham.
The Trust has an established clinical network infrastructure to
support the delivery of services on site, e.g. dermatology with
City Hospital.
Our work as a Trust is based upon the strategic direction established
by the Department of Health. The Department of Health’s website
can be found at www.doh.gov.uk and has links to the key national
strategies, such as the NHS Plan and the Mental Health National
Service Framework, that guide our organisation and the wider NHS.
Our website shows how we fit into the NHS across the area we serve
(www.goodhope.org.uk). The Birmingham and Black Country Strategic
Health Authority (www.bbcha.nhs.uk) and Shropshire and Staffordshire
Strategic Health Authority (www.sasha.nhs.uk) websites are also
useful sources of information about the wider NHS in our area.
The Trust also works in partnership with a number of non-NHS organisations
to ensure local delivery of services and their development, in
accordance with national guidance and local needs. These partner
organisations include local authorities, educational establishments,
police, prison service, probation, the private sector and not-for-profit
and community groups. We are particularly proud of our close
links with Social Services and service user and carer groups.
Some of these organisations are involved in the joint delivery
of services with us. If you would like to know more about these
arrangements and how these services are managed, please contact
the Publication Scheme Co-ordinator who will arrange for you to
receive the information you require.
Some of the partnerships will involve information sharing, with
agreed protocols and procedures between organisations about how
this information is shared. The Trust is also developing an Information
Sharing Policy, which will be available through the Publication
Scheme Co-ordinator.
