In December 2001, Good Hope Hospital NHS Trust received
the go-ahead to develop its initial plans to build and equip a
new Ambulatory Care Centre on the Rectory Road Site. The best
location was identified and approved, and a team of architects
and healthcare planners were short-listed and appointed (Nightingale
Associates).
Our proposal is one of a number in the UK being developed as
part of the NHS Plan. They have now been named Diagnosis &
Treatment Centres (DTC). Good Hope's DTC will be amongst the first
to be commissioned in 2004. We have received planning approval
from the City Council, and the full support of our commissioners,
the Primary Care Trusts.
“dtc” and the “rising sun” image are
together the working title of our project here at Good Hope Hospital.
It's not the name of the building though - we will be working
on that one with your help in the near future! Wherever you see
"dtc" or the “rising sun” logo, you will
be able to get information about Good Hope Hospital's Diagnosis
& Treatment Centre project.
